तीन नये आपराधिक कानून- भारतीय न्याय संहिता 2023, भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता 2023, और भारतीय साक्ष्य अधिनियम 2023 आज से लागू हो गये हैं। सरकार ने इस बारे में राज्यों और केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों के साथ नियमित बैठकें की हैं और वे नये कानूनों को लागू करने से संबंधित प्रौद्योगिकी, क्षमता निर्माण और जागरूकता सृजन के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार हैं।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday expressed gratitude to the people for reiterating their faith in the Constitution and the democratic systems of the country. Addressing the nation in his first Mann ki Baat programme after the General elections on Akashvani, the Prime Minister highlighted that the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections were the biggest in the world in which 65 crore people cast their votes.
Mr Modi spoke about the special campaign launched on World Environment Day this year – ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. He appealed to people to plant a tree along with their mothers, or in their mothers’ name.
Touching upon the subject of Yoga, the Prime Minister said that the whole world celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm.

India has initiated an anti-dumping probe pertaining to glass fibre imports from China, Thailand, and Bahrain, following a complaint from a domestic player. If confirmed, anti-dumping duties can be imposed. Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) initiated the anti-dumping investigation based on the evidence submitted by the applicant concerning the dumping of the product. The DGTR is the commerce ministry’s investigation arm, and can recommend imposing anti-dumping duties on the imports. However, that final decision is taken by the finance ministry.
Anti-dumping probes are conducted to find out if domestic industries have been hurt because of a large surge in cheap imports. These duties are imposed under the multilateral regime of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The duty is for ensuring fair trading practices and creating a level-playing field for domestic producers.

India has joined UN-led conference on Afghanistan which began in Doha yesterday. India is being represented by Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, J P Singh. India is among the 25 countries participating in the third UN-led conference on Afghanistan, looking to find ways to improve the lives of the Afghan people in the Taliban ruled country. The meeting is significant as it is the first time that the Taliban are attending the talks. However, the UN has denied that the latest round of talks in Doha are meant to pave the way for international recognition for the Taliban. The conference in Doha is also seeing participation by the EU, OIC and SCO.
India has legitimate economic and security interests in Afghanistan. New Delhi is of the view that the international community must focus on combating terrorism, humanitarian assistance, formation of a truly inclusive government and preserving the rights of women, girls and minorities.

The Tamilnadu Science Forum is organising a free science lecture on genetics and laws of inheritance on July 6 at Anna Centenary Library. The topic will be on Gene, Genome, Genomics and the Society. The event will delve into the evolution of genetics and its societal impacts. Prof. S.Revathi Devi who has done research in genetics and genomics will highlight advancements from Mendel’s laws to modern genome editing.
BENGALURU METRO
Bengaluru reported its first confirmed dengue-related death since January amid a recent spike in cases, according to a senior official. The 27-year-old victim, who was from CV Raman Nagar, succumbed to the vector-borne disease.
On Friday, two suspected dengue deaths were reported in the city. The civic body decided to conduct a death audit today to confirm the cause of death. Of the two suspected cases, one has been confirmed, marking the first dengue death in Bengaluru since January.
From January to date, the city has recorded 1,743 cases of dengue.
HYDERABAD METRO
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released three books on the life and journey of former vice president of India, Venkaiah Naidu yesterday at a ceremony. They include – a biography, a photo chronicle, and a pictorial biography have been released by the Prime Minister on the eve of Naidu’s 75th birthday via a video conference. The books are titled “Venkaiah Naidu – Life in Service”, “Celebrating Bharat – The Mission and Message of Shri M Venkaiah Naidu as 13th Vice President of India”, and a photo chronicle and pictorial biography in Telugu titled “Mahaneta – Life and Journey of Shri M Venkaiah Naidu.” Addressing the ceremony online, Mr Modi said these books will inspire the readers and will guide them towards the path of national services.

दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल कॉर्पोरेशन-डीएमआरसी ने बताया कि दिल्ली मेट्रो के चौथे चरण का विस्तार कार्य अपने नियमित समय से चल रहा है और 2026 के अपने लक्ष्य तक सेवा शुरू कर देगा। डीएमआरसी ने बताया कि वर्तमान में चौथे चरण के अंतर्गत तीनों कॉरिडोर पर 50 प्रतिशत से अधिक प्रगति हो चुकी है। इसके अलावा मजलिस पार्क-मौजपुर खंड पर लगभग 80 प्रतिशत सिविल कार्य पहले ही पूरा हो चुका है। वहीं गोल्डन लाइन के एयरोसिटी-तुगलकाबाद कॉरिडोर और मैजेंटा लाइन के जनकपुरी पश्चिम-आरके आश्रम मार्ग कॉरिडोर के विभिन्न हिस्सों पर सुरंग बनाने का काम चालू है। डीएमआरसी ने बताया कि कार्य को आगे बढाने के लिए आवश्यक क्षेत्रों में पेड़ काटने और भूमि अधिग्रहण के लिए कुछ अनुमतियां अभी भी मंजूरी का इंतजार कर रही हैं। इसके अलावा मेट्रो अधिकारी नियमित रूप से उच्चतम स्तर पर स्थल निरीक्षण भी करते रहते हैं।
दिल्ली नगर-निगम की महापौर शैली ऑबरॉय ने कल जल भराव की समस्या को लेकर सदर बाजार विधानसभा के किशनगंज इलाके में एमसीडी अधिकारियों के साथ निरीक्षण किया। इसके अलावा उन्होंने अधिकारियों के साथ मालवीय नगर, कृष्ण नगर, सफदरजंग एन्क्लेव और एसएफएस अपार्टमैंट क्षेत्रों का भी निरीक्षण किया। सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से महापौर ऑबरॉय ने आश्वासन दिया कि दिल्ली में रिकॉर्ड तोड़ बारिश के बावजूद भी आम आदमी पार्टी के नियमित प्रयासों से स्थिति नियंत्रित है। उन्होंने नगर निगम के अफसरों को धन्यवाद देते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने बहुत तेज़ी से काम करके इन क्षेत्रों की समस्याओं का निवारण किया और जनता को राहत दिलाई।
पुलिस कमिश्नरेट दिवस के अवसर पर दिल्ली पुलिस आज राजधानी के किंग्सवे कैंप स्थित न्यू पुलिस लाइन परेड ग्राउंड में परेड का आयोजन कर रही है। इस परेड में दिल्ली पुलिस के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों सहित आमंत्रित लोग शामिल होंगे जिसमें दिल्ली के उपराज्यपाल विनय कुमार सक्सेना मुख्य अतिथि के तौर पर उपस्थित रहेंगे। परेड सुबह साढे सात बजे से शुरू होगी और इसका सीधा प्रसारण दिल्ली पुलिस के यूट्यूब चैनल और फेसबुक अकाउंट पर किया जायेगा।

मुंबई के जल संकट का वैकल्पिक समाधान खोजने के लिए, बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम ने पालघर के गरगई पिंजल में बांध बनाने की योजना को फिर से शुरू करने का फैसला किया है। वनों की कटाई को रोकने के लिए बीएमसी ने 2019 में इस परियोजना को स्थगित कर दिया था। इसके अलावा, बीएमसी ने शहर के जल संकट को दूर करने के लिए मुंबई के बाहर मनोरी में एक विलवणीकरण संयंत्र स्थापित करने का भी फैसला किया है।
कोलकाता में भारतीय सांख्यिकी संस्थान (आईएसआई) में शनिवार को प्रो. प्रशांत चंद्र महालनोबिश की 131वीं जयंती मनाई गई। वे संस्थान के संस्थापक हैं और इस दिन को सांख्यिकी दिवस के रूप में भी मनाया जाता है। संस्थान में एक दिवसीय कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। आईएसआई की निदेशक डॉ. संघमित्रा बंदोपाध्याय ने कहा कि प्रो. महालनोबिश ने सांख्यिकी में एक विरासत बनाई है और सांख्यिकी विज्ञान एआई और अन्य क्षेत्रों के साथ मिलकर काम कर रहा है।

पर्यावरण, वन एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री भूपेंद्र यादव ने फौना ऑफ इंडिया चेकलिस्ट नामक पोर्टल का उद्घाटन किया और दो पुस्तकें एनिमल डिस्कवरीज 2023 और प्लांट डिस्कवरीज 2023 प्रकाशित कीं। भारतीय प्राणी सर्वेक्षण और विभिन्न अन्य संस्थानों और विश्वविद्यालयों के बीच दस समझौता ज्ञापनों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए और विभिन्न दस्तावेज प्रकाशित किए गए। मंत्री ने पशु वर्गीकरण शिखर सम्मेलन 2024 का उद्घाटन किया जो 3 जुलाई तक चलेगा। इस शिखर सम्मेलन में विभिन्न देशों के शोधकर्ता और वैज्ञानिक शामिल होंगे। इस अवसर पर बच्चों ने मंत्री की उपस्थिति में एक पेड़ मां के नाम अभियान के तहत पौधे रोपे। कार्यक्रम में मन की बात का सीधा प्रसारण भी किया गया।

One of the most renowned and well-respected physicians in India went by the name of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
वे बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी एक वरिष्ठ चिकित्सक, विद्वान् शिक्षाविद, निर्भीक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, कुशल राजनीतिज्ञ और प्रसिद्ध समाज सेवक के साथ साथ आधुनिक भारत के राष्ट्र निर्माता के रूप में भी बड़ी श्रद्धा व सम्मान के साथ स्मरण किया जाता है। विशेषकर बंगाल के प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में उनके द्वारा किए गये उल्लेखनीय कार्यों के संदर्भ में उन्हें ‘बंगाल का मसीहा’ भी कहा जाता है। सन 1947 में देश स्वतंत्र हुआ तो डॉ.राय को केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमंडल में सम्मिलित करने पर विचार हुआ, किंतु उन्होंने अपने डॉक्टरी और समाज सेवा कार्यों को प्राथमिकता देते हुए स्पष्ट इंकार कर दिया। तब गांधी जी के कहने पर उन्हें एक कांग्रेसी होने के नाते अपने कर्तव्य के रूप में बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री पद का दायित्व ग्रहण करना पड़ा। 23 जनवरी 1948 में राज्यपाल चक्रवर्ती राजगोपालाचारी द्वारा उन्हें मुख्यमंत्री पद की शपथ दिलायी गयी। डॉ. राय ने अपने जीवन काल में अनेक सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रों में अपनी पूरी क्षमता के साथ कार्य किया। आज भी उनके द्वारा भारत के विभिन्न स्थानों में स्थापित संस्थान इस बात का स्पष्ट प्रमाण हैं कि वे सही मायनों में राष्ट्र निर्माता थे। ‘जादवपुर टी.बी.अस्पताल’, ‘चितरंजन सेवा सदन’, आर.जी.खार.मेडिकल कॉलेज’, ‘कमला नेहरू अस्पताल’, ‘विक्टोरिया संस्थान’ और ‘चितरंजन कैंसर अस्पताल’ प्रमुख हैं। उन्होंने अपने निवास स्थल को भी अपनी माता के नाम पर अस्पताल चालाने के लिए दान दे दिया।

आज आधुनिक भारत के प्रमुख स्वाधीनता सेनानियों में से एक पुरुषोत्तम दास टंडन की पुण्यतिथि है| वे ‘राजर्षि’ के नाम से भी विख्यात थे। उन्होंने अपना जीवन एक वकील के रूप में प्रारम्भ किया था। पुरुषोत्तम जी हिन्दी को राष्ट्रभाषा बनाए जाने के प्रबल समर्थक थे और इसको आगे बढ़ाने और राष्ट्रभाषा का स्थान देने के लिए काफ़ी प्रयास कर रहे थे। राजर्षि पुरुषोत्तम दास टंडन ने 10 अक्टूबर, 1910 को ‘नागरी प्रचारिणी सभा’, वाराणसी के प्रांगण में ‘हिन्दी साहित्य सम्मेलन’ की स्थापना की। इसी क्रम में 1918 में उन्होंने ‘हिन्दी विद्यापीठ’ और 1947 में ‘हिन्दी रक्षक दल’ की स्थापना की। वे हिन्दी को देश की आज़ादी के पहले ‘आज़ादी प्राप्त करने का’ और आज़ादी के बाद ‘आज़ादी को बनाये रखने का’ एक बड़ा साधन मानते थे।’ पुरुषोत्तमदास टंडन हिन्दी के प्रबल पक्षधर थे। वह हिन्दी में भारत की मिट्टी की सुगंध महसूस करते थे। ‘हिन्दी साहित्य सम्मेलन’ के ‘इंदौर अधिवेशन’ में स्पष्ट घोषणा की गई थी कि- “अब से राजकीय सभाओं, कांग्रेस की प्रांतीय सभाओं और अन्य सम्मेलनों में अंग्रेज़ी का एक शब्द भी सुनाई न पड़े। पुरुषोत्तम दास टंडन को भारत के राजनीतिक और सामाजिक जीवन में नयी चेतना, नयी लहर, नयी क्रान्ति पैदा करने वाला कर्मयोगी कहा गया है। वर्ष 1961 में उन्हें देश के सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान ‘भारत रत्न’ से भी सम्मानित किया गया था।

आज भारत के प्रसिद्ध बाँसुरी वादक पंडित हरिप्रसाद चौरसिया का जन्मदिन हैं| भारतीय बांसुरी वादन कला को विश्व स्तर पर पहचान दिलाने में पंडित हरिप्रसाद चौरसिया की भूमिका प्रशंसनीय है। हरिप्रसाद चौरसिया का बचपन गंगा किनारे बनारस में बीता। उनकी शुरुआत तबला वादक के रूप में हुई। अपने पड़ोसी पंडित राजाराम से उन्होंने संगीत की बारीकियां सीखीं। इसके बाद बांसुरी सीखने के लिए वह वाराणसी के पंडित भोलानाथ प्रसाना के पास गए। संगीत सीखने के बाद उन्होंने काफ़ी समय ऑल इंडिया रेडियो के साथ भी काम किया। संगीत में उत्कृष्टता हासिल करने की खोज उन्हें बाबा अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ की सुयोग्य पुत्री और शिष्या अन्नापूर्णा देवी की शरण में ले गयी। अन्नपूर्णा देवी की शागिर्दी में उनकी प्रतिभा में और निखार आया और उनके संगीत को जादुई स्पर्श मिला। पंडित हरिप्रसाद चौरसिया ने बांसुरी के जरिए शास्त्रीय संगीत को तो लोकप्रिय बनाने का काम किया ही, संतूर वादक पंडित शिवशंकर शर्मा के साथ मिलकर ‘शिव-हरि’ नाम से कुछ हिन्दी फ़िल्मों में मधुर संगीत भी दिया। इस जोड़ी की फ़िल्में हैं- चांदनी, डर, लम्हे, सिलसिला, फासले, विजय और साहिबान। पंडित चौरसिया ने एक तेलुगु फ़िल्म ‘सिरीवेनेला’ में भी संगीत दिया। जिसमें नायक की भूमिका उनके जीवन से प्रेरित थी। इस फ़िल्म में नायक की भूमिका ‘सर्वदमन बनर्जी’ ने निभायी थी और बांसुरी वादन उन्होंने ही किया था। इसके अलावा पंडित जी ने बालीवुड के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकारों सचिन देव बर्मन और राहुल देव बर्मन की भी कुछ फ़िल्मों में बांसुरी वादन किया। उन्हें पद्म भूषण, पद्म विभूषण, संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जा चुका है|
