18वीं लोकसभा अध्यक्ष का चुनाव आज होगा। भारतीय जनता पार्टी के वरिष्ठ सांसद ओम बिरला इस पद के लिए राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन-एनडीए के उम्मीदवार हैं। विपक्षी इंडिया गठबंधन ने कांग्रेस के सांसद के सुरेश को इस पद के लिए खड़ा किया है।
सरकार और विपक्ष दोनों में इस पद के लिए कोई सहमति नहीं बन सकी है। संसदीय कार्यमंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने कहा कि लोकसभा अध्यक्ष का चुनाव सर्वसम्मति से निर्विरोध होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार ने विपक्षी दलों के सदन के नेताओं से सहमति बनाने के लिए बातचीत की है। विपक्ष ने कुछ शर्ते सामने रखी है और उपाध्यक्ष पद की मांग की है। श्री रिजिजू ने कहा कि सहमति में कोई शर्त नहीं होनी चाहिए। उन्होंने विपक्षी गठबंधन से अपने फैसले पर फिर से विचार करने के लिए कहा है।
संसद के बाहर कल संवाददाताओं से बातचीत में केन्द्रीय मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने कहा कि श्री राजनाथ सिंह, अमितशाह ने कांग्रेस नेता के.सी. वेणुगोपाल और डीएमके सांसद टीआर बालू से इस मुद्दे पर सहमति बनाने के बारे में बातचीत की है।
श्री गोयल ने कहा कि उन्हें बता दिया गया है कि उपाध्यक्ष का मुद्दा चुनाव के समय सुलझा लिया जाएगा।
कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने संसद से बाहर मीडिया से बातचीत में कहा कि विपक्ष लोकसभा अध्यक्ष पद के लिए एनडीए उम्मीदवार को समर्थन देने के लिए तैयार है, अगर उपाध्यक्ष पद विपक्ष को दे दिया जाए।

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has said, Africa will continue to be at the top of India’s priorities. Addressing the Africa Day celebrations in New Delhi yesterday, Dr Jaishankar said, India’s partnership with Africa is beyond strategic concerns and economic benefits. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi redefined India’s engagement in Africa by outlining its 10 guiding principles. These include India’s commitment to liberate Africa’s potential by building local capacity and creating local opportunities, keeping markets open and sharing India’s experience with the digital revolution to support Africa’s development. The External Affairs Minister highlighted that India has also been at the forefront to provide capacity-building and training to African candidates under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme. On the trade and economic front, India is the fourth largest trading partner for Africa with a bilateral trade of about 100 billion dollars and cumulative investments of more than 75 billion dollars.

Based on the intelligence provided by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, the air intelligence unit of the customs department tightened the vigil and secured those who arrived in five different flights. Customs officials found ten gold chains of 24 karat weighing more than four kilos. In the second seizure, the passengers had hid Rs. 3 Crore worth gold in person.

Earlier it was decided to organize the conference in the month of June. But it was postponed due to the Election Code of Conduct. Now it is decided to hold the Sammelan in the month of December. A large number of Kannadigas from the state, outside the state and abroad are expected to participate. The Chief Minister said that he would request Kannadigas to participate in this conference in large numbers.

The Telangana state government has urged the Centre to release dues over 693 crore rupees under the National Health Mission (NHM). State Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called on Union Health Minister JP Nadda in Delhi yesterday and urged him to release 693.13 crore rupees dues to the state under the NHM. An official release later said the Chief Minister informed Mr Nadda during the meeting about various initiatives taken by the state government to improve the health sector. He also briefed the Union Minister that the state government has been implementing the Ayushman Bharat guidelines since January this year in Telangana. A total of 5 thousand 159 Ayushman Health Centers called as Basti Dawakhanas, were set up to extend better health care services to rural and urban people.
He also requested to reimburse 231.40 crore rupees dues during the previous year, which the state government spent for the infrastructure and maintenance component, under the NHM.

दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल को जमानत देने के निचली अदालत के आदेश पर रोक लगा दी है।
न्यायमूर्ति सुधीर कुमार जैन की अवकाश पीठ ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) की उस याचिका पर अपना फैसला सुनाया, जिसमें केजरीवाल को जमानत देने के निचली अदालत के आदेश पर रोक लगाने की मांग की गई थी। उच्च न्यायालय ने ईडी के इन आरोपों से सहमति जताई कि ट्रायल कोर्ट ने जांच एजेंसी को ठीक से नहीं सुना। इससे पहले, उच्चतम न्यायालय ने निचली अदालत के आदेश पर रोक लगाने के उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश को चुनौती देने वाली केजरीवाल की याचिका को स्थगित कर दिया था और मामले की सुनवाई बुधवार यानी आज तय की थी। अरविंद केजरीवाल को दिल्ली शराब नीति से जुड़े भ्रष्टाचार के मामले में 21 मार्च को गिरफ्तार किया गया था।

दिल्ली की जलमंत्री आतिशी के अनशन समाप्त होने पर भाजपा अध्यक्ष वीरेन्द्र सचदेवा ने कहा है कि उन्होंने पहले ही कहा था कि यह सत्याग्रह नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि सत्याग्रह की मूल भावना होती है सत्या के लिए लड़ना, जिसका प्रयोग महात्मा गांधी, लाला लाजपत राय और विनोबा भावे जैसे लोगों ने सत्य को उजागर करने के लिए किया था, लेकिन दिल्ली सरकार अपनी प्रशासनिक नाकामियों को छुपाने के लिए अनशन कर रही थी। श्री सचदेवा ने मंत्री आतिशी के उत्तम स्वास्थ्य की कामना की है। प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष देवेन्द्र यादव ने कहा है कि केन्द्र और दिल्ली सरकार जनता को राहत देने की बजाय एक दूसरे पर आरोप-प्रत्यारोप की राजनीति कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि शहर में पानी की कमी के बीच जल मंत्री अनशन करती हैं, जबकि इस बीच टैंकर माफिया पूरे शहर में पानी की आपूर्ति कर रहे हैं, ये कैसे संभव है। श्री यादव ने आरोप लगाया है कि आम आदमी पार्टी और भाजपा की मिलीभगत से दिल्ली में टैंकर माफिया पानी की कालाबाजारी कर रहे हैं और मुनाफा कमा रहे हैं।

उत्तर रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक शोभन चौधुरी ने रेलवे अधिकारियों के साथ आज उत्तर रेलवे की कार्य प्रगति को लेकर नई दिल्ली में रेलवे मुख्यालय में समीक्षा बैठक की। बैठक में मॉनसून मौसम के दौरान रेलगाडियों के सुरक्षित और निर्धारित समय से परिचालन करने के लिए अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिये गये। श्री चौधरी ने बताया कि मानसून लगभग आने वाला है और इस बीच भारी बारिश और खराब मौसम की स्थिति से निपटने के लिए रेलवे विशेष तैयारियां कर रहा है।
महाप्रबंधक ने सभी संबंधित विभागों को मानसून से निपटने के लिए बुनियादी ढांचे, उपकरणों और रेलगाड़ियों के सुचारु परिचालन की तैयारियों का आंकलन करने का भी निर्देश दिया है।

महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने मुंबई के घाटकोपर इलाके में विशाल होर्डिंग को मंजूरी देने के आरोप में आईपीएस अधिकारी मोहम्मद कैसर खालिद को तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित कर दिया है। ये होर्डिंग 13 मई को धूल भरी आंधी के बाद गिर गया था, जिसमें 16 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। राज्य के गृह विभाग द्वारा मंगलवार को जारी एक सरकारी आदेश में कहा गया है कि, पीसीआर के अतिरिक्त महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यरत क़ैसर खालिद ने डीजीपी कार्यालय की इजाज़त के बिना होर्डिंग को मंजूरी दे दी।

मुंबई हवाईअड्डे सीमा शुल्क कार्यालय ने पिछले सप्ताह 18 मामलों में 10 किलो 900 ग्राम से अधिक सोना और 17 लाख रुपये की विदेशी मुद्रा जब्त की है। एक सरकारी प्रेस विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है कि, 6 करोड़ 84 लाख रुपये का सोना मोम में गोल्ड डस्ट, क्रूड जूलरी और सोने की ईंटों समेत विभिन्न रूपों में छिपा हुआ पाया गया। अलग अलग जगहों से मुंबई की यात्रा कर रहे पांच लोगों को रोका गया और उनके पास से 5 किलो 680 ग्राम सोना बरामद किया गया। उन्हें गिरफ्तार करके आगे की जांच की जा रही है।

दुर्गापुर की एक अदालत ने प्रतिबंधित बांग्लादेशी आतंकवादी संगठन अंसार-अल-इस्लाम के सदस्या हारेज शेख को सोमवार को 14 दिनों की एसटीएफ हिरासत में भेज दिया है। पश्चिम बंगाल के नदिया जिले के नवद्वीप के मायापुर के हारेज शेख को सोमवार की तड़के सुबह हावड़ा रेलवे स्टेशन के पास से गिरफ्तार किया गया। वह आतंकवादी संगठन अंसार-अल-इस्लाम की एक शाखा शहादत से जुड़ा हुआ है। इससे पहले इसी आतंकवादी समूह के मोहम्मद हबीबुल्लाह को पश्चिम बर्धमान जिले के काक्षा से गिरफ्तार किया गया था और उसे भी अदालत ने 14 दिनों की एसटीएफ हिरासत में भेज दिया था।

बंकिम चन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय जन्म: 26 जून, 1838; मृत्यु: 8 अप्रैल, 1894) 19वीं शताब्दी के बंगाल के महान विद्वान् तथा महान् कवि और उपन्यासकार थे। 1874 में प्रसिद्ध देश भक्ति गीत वन्देमातरम् की रचना की जिसे बाद में आनन्द मठ नामक उपन्यास में शामिल किया गया। इस गीत को वन्देमातरम् गीत को सबसे पहले 1896 में कांग्रेस के कलकत्ता अधिवेशन में गाया गया था। बंकिम चन्द्र चट्टोपाध्याय का जन्म बंगाल के 24 परगना ज़िले में हुआ था। उनकी शिक्षा बंगला के साथ-साथ अंग्रेज़ी व संस्कृत में भी हुई थी। बंकिम ने साहित्य के क्षेत्र में कुछ कविताएँ लिखकर प्रवेश किया। उस समय बंगला में गद्य या उपन्यास कहानी की रचनाएँ कम लिखी जाती थीं। बंकिम ने इस दिशा में पथ-प्रदर्शक का काम किया। 27 वर्ष की उम्र में उन्होंने ‘दुर्गेश नंदिनी’ नाम का उपन्यास लिखा। रबीन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर ‘बंग दर्शन’ में लिखकर ही साहित्य के क्षेत्र में आए। वे बंकिम को अपना गुरु मानते थे। उनका कहना था कि, ‘बंकिम बंगला लेखकों के गुरु और बंगला पाठकों के मित्र हैं’। तो आइए इस मौके पर सुनते हैं बंकिम चंद्र का लिखा भारत का राष्ट्रीय गीत वंदे मातरम

बाल गन्धर्व, जन्म- 26 जून, 1888 ई., पुणे, महाराष्ट्र; मृत्यु- 15 जुलाई, 1967, पुणे) मराठी रंगमंच के महान् नायक और प्रसिद्ध गायक थे। उन्होंने रंगमंच पर अपने अभिनय की शुरुआत सर्वप्रथम शकुंतला का चरित्र निभाकर की थी। नारायण श्रीपाद राजहंस को ‘बाल गन्धर्व’ के नाम से अधिक जाना जाता है। यह नाम उन्हें भारत के प्रसिद्ध स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक बाल गंगाधर तिलक ने दिया था। बाल गन्धर्व मराठी रंगमंच पर महिला चरित्रों को निभाते थे, क्योंकि तत्कालीन समय में महिलाएँ रंगमंच पर किसी भी प्रकार की भूमिका नहीं निभाती थीं। ‘संगीत नाटक अकादमी ने उन्हें सर्वोच्च अभिनेता के तौर पर सम्मानित किया, और साल 1964 में उन्हें पद्मभूषण से भी नवाज़ा गया। उनकी जयंती पर सुनते हैं उनका गाया ये मराठी गाना
