गृहमंत्री अमित शाह ने मौसम विभाग और केन्द्रीय जल आयोग को बेहत्तर बाढ प्रबंधन के लिए नदियों के जलस्तर की पूर्वानुमान प्रणाली को उन्नत बनाने का निर्देश दिया। श्री शाह ने बाढ प्रबंधन की तैयारियों की समीक्षा करने के लिए नई दिल्ली में एक उच्चस्तरीय बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। उन्होंने देश में बाढ के खतरों को कम करने के लिए एक व्यापक और दूरगामी नीति का कार्यान्वयन करने संबंधी दीर्घकालिक उपायों की भी समीक्षा की। श्री शाह ने निर्देश दिया कि मौसम विभाग द्वारा जारी बिजली चमकने के पूर्वानुमानों को आम लोगों तक पहुंचाने के लिए एसएमएस, टीवी, एफएम रेडियो और अन्य माध्यमों का उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए। गृहमंत्री ने जंगल की आग की घटनाओं को रोकने संबंधी सुरक्षात्मक उपाय करने के लिए राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण-एनडीएमए और पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय को भी निर्देश दिये।

Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey will launch the 4th tranche of auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks today in New Delhi. The Ministry said that the occasion will also include handing over of certificates to two Notified Private Exploration Agencies. It further said that to increase the efficiency in extraction of mineral resources and in its conversion into viable economic alloys and metals, sanction letters of grant will be handed over to Start-ups and research and developmment institutes. Scheme for partial reimbursement of exploration expenses by exploration licence holders is also scheduled to be announced.
The Ministry noted that Critical Minerals play a pivotal role for both economic development and mineral security of the country. In light of the same, Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act was amended in 2023 where the Central Government was conferred the power to grant mineral concession of 24 critical and strategic minerals.

The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of Bihar police yesterday said that the NEET-UG examination paper was leaked by a professional interstate organized gang from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.
The EOU said that 13 members of this organized gang have been arrested by SIT, which is investigating the case.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the EOU said the paper leak case occurred due to tampering in the standard operating procedure (SOP) of transportation, storage, hand over and take over laid by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The EOU said SOP was not followed at the examination centre in Hazaribagh in Jharkhand which led to the question paper leak.

The works of the Chennai Metro Rail Corporation will continue in T.Nagar shopping hub area as many places have been barricaded and traffic has been diverted it has become difficult for commuters. The officials said that one kilometer long twin tunnels between Pangal Park and Kodambakkam will be completed along the path. At Panagal Park , the tunnel will be around eight metres in depth. It may gradually go deeper at 24m at Nandanam junction where tunnels will be below the existing phase – 1 tunnel.

Chennai’s T.Nagar shopping hub faces traffic diversions as tunneling between Panagal and Boat club is delayed by one year. Two tunnel boring machines are currently building tunnels between Panagal Park and Kodambakkam for the 45.4 km corridor -3 of Phase – 2.
State Minister K.N.Nehru said that the State has proposed to merge Poonamallee ,Thiruverkadu, Thirunindravur and Madukkarai municipalities with nearby corporations. A total of 13 town panchayats would be upgraded into eleven municipalities and a new municipality would be formed by merging eight panchayats. This would take the total number of municipalities in the State to 149. The number of existing town panchayats which was 490 would go upto 700 with the merging of the eligible panchayats.

The event organised by Mysuru Karate Association had Karate for Self Defence as its theme. Moving onto Telangana, news from the Hyderabad, The Telangana state government is planning to modernise government schools and Residential Schools. The government has taken an initiative for establishing SC, ST, BC and minority gurukul schools under a single roof at an integrated residential school campus. The integrated campuses will be constructed in all Assembly constituencies in the state. The construction of integrated campuses will be taken up in Kodangal and Madhira Assembly constituencies on pilot basis initially. Later, these campuses will be established in all the constituencies in a phased manner. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and State Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari reviewed the establishment of integrated residential schools with officials concerned yesterday in Hyderabad. They examined designs for these integrated schools submitted by architects. Besides classrooms, school campuses will be constructed as advanced educational institutions on par with international schools. The integrated residential schools will provide all facilities to students. Officials have been asked to design and construct school campuses based on land availability. Each Integrated Gurukul Complex will be built on an area of about 20 to 25 acres.

राजधानी में जल संकट को लेकर दिल्ली की जल मंत्री आतिशी की अनिश्चितकालीन भूख हड़ताल कल तीसरे दिन भी जारी रही। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा सरकार द्वारा दिल्ली को लगभग 113 एमजीडी पानी कम दिया जा रहा है, जिस कारण दिल्लीवासियों को पानी की किल्लत का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। जल मंत्री ने आरोप लगाया है कि हरियाणा सरकार ने हथिनी कुंड बैराज से दिल्ली को आने वाला पानी बंद कर दिया है।

Shardha Ram Phillauri (Punjabi pronunciation: [Śaradhā rāma philaurī] ; September 1837 – 24 June 1881)
Shardha Ram Phillauri was an Indian writer, poet and social reformer who is remembered for his contributions to Hindi and Punjabi literature. He is best known for his Hindu religious hymn Om Jai Jagdish Hare and Bhagyawati, one of the first Hindi novels. Phillauri has also been called the “father of modern Punjabi prose.” Born in Phillaur, he visited cities across Punjab and died in Lahore in 1881.
In 1886 Sikhan De Raj Di Vithia (Punjabi:The Story of Sikh Rule) he published, an account of Sikh religion and the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Shardha Ram has recently been acknowledged as having written the first novel in Hindi.His novel Bhagyawati, believed to have been written mainly in Amritsar, was first published in 1888, after Shardha Ram’s death. The novel’s portrayal of women and women’s rights was progressive for its day. Sharda Ram has written the famous and widely sung aarti “Om Jai Jagdish Hare.”

Sanjukta Panigrahi was a dancer from India, who was the foremost exponent of Indian classical dance Odissi. Sanjukta was the first Odia woman to embrace this ancient classical dance at an early age and ensure its grand revival. In recognition of her contribution to dancing and associated activities, she was honoured with one of India’s highest civilian awards the, Padma Shri (1975).

पण्डित ओंकारनाथ ठाकुर (जन्म: 24 जून, 1897 – मृत्यु: 29 दिसंबर, 1967) भारत के प्रसिद्ध संगीतज्ञ एवं हिन्दुस्तानी शास्त्रीय गायक थे। इनका सम्बन्ध ग्वालियर घराने से था। यहाँ तक कि किशोरावस्था में ओंकारनाथ जी को अपने पिता और परिवार के सदस्यों के भरण-पोषण के लिए एक मिल में नौकरी करनी पड़ी। पण्डित ओंकारनाथ ठाकुर की कालजयी रचनाओं में एक महत्त्वपूर्ण रचना है, ‘वन्देमातरम्…’। 15 अगस्त, 1947 को प्रातः 6:30 बजे आकाशवाणी से पण्डित ओंकारनाथ ठाकुर का राग- देश में निबद्ध ‘वन्देमातरम’ के गायन का सजीव प्रसारण हुआ था।
इन्हे संगीत के क्षेत्र में योगदान के लिए संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार, संगीत मार्तंड, संगीत महामहोदय और पद्म श्री की उपाधियों और अनगिनत पुरस्कारों तथा सम्मानों से नवाज़ा गया।
