Third phase of polling for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be held today. Voting will be held in 93 Lok Sabha Constituencies spread across ten States and one Union Territory. The voting began at 7 AM and end at 6 PM.
Twenty five seats in Gujarat, 14 in Karnataka, 11 in Maharashtra and 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh are going to polls during this phase. Besides, voting will also take place on nine seats in Madhya Pradesh, seven in Chhattisgarh, five in Bihar, four seats each in Assam and West Bengal, two seats each in Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman today.
The polling for Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, which was earlier scheduled in third phase, will now be held in the Sixth phase. Besides, there will also be no polling in Surat Parliamentary Constituency in Gujarat, as the candidate has been elected unopposed. Betul Parliamentary Constituency in Madhya Pradesh will also go to polls in the third phase, since polling date for this Parliamentary Constituency was rescheduled from Phase two owing to the demise of a BSP candidate.
Around 18 lakh 50 thousand Polling officials will be deployed across one lakh 85 thousand polling stations. In this phase, there are over 17 crore voters including 8.85 crore male and 8.39 crore female. A total of one thousand 331 candidates are in the fray in this phase. The third phase of the Lok Sabha Elections will witness the visit of a large number of foreign delegates for experiencing India’s polling process and management. 75 delegates from 23 countries will visit polling stations in six states, as part of the International Election Visitor Programme.
Some of the prominent candidates whose political fate will be sealed in the EVMs today are senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Mansukh Mandaviya, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pralhad Joshi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Basavaraj Bommai, Congress leader Digvijay Singh, Samajwadi party leader Dimple Yadav, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule.

निर्वाचन आयोग ने लोकसभा चुनाव के सातवें और अंतिम चरण के लिए अधिसूचना जारी कर दी है। इस चरण में सात राज्यों और एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश की 57 लोकसभा सीटों पर मतदान होगा। उत्तर प्रदेश और पंजाब की तेरह-तेरह, पश्चिम बंगाल की नौ, बिहार की आठ, ओडिशा की छह, हिमाचल प्रदेश की चार, झारखंड की तीन और केंद्र शासित प्रदेश चंडीगढ़ की एक सीट पर इस चरण में मतदान होगा। इस महीने की 14 तारीख तक नामांकन दाखिल किए जा सकते है। पहली जून को वोट डाले जांएगें।

The Election Commission has censured Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP President, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP Chief N Chandra Babu Naidu in connection with violation of Model Code of Conduct during their speeches. In its order, the Commission has directed the to remain careful during their public utterances in future. The Commission said that it expects that all political leaders follow the provisions of the MCC in letter and spirit setting up an example for the political discourse.

बिहार में आगामी लोकसभा चुनाव के कारण नेपाल में सिराहा जिले में स्थित भारत-नेपाल सीमा दो चरणों में आठ दिनों के लिए बंद रहेगी। बिहार के सुपौल में आज और मधुबनी में 20 मई को मतदान है। सिराहा जिला प्रशासन कार्यालय के अनुसार प्रत्येक चुनाव तिथि से 72 घंटे पहले पारगमन स्थल बंद कर दिए जाएंगे। इस कारण सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र पहले चरण में शनिवार मध्य रात्रि से आज तक के लिए और दूसरे चरण में 17 मई मध्य रात्रि से 20 मई तक बंद रहेगा।

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आरोप लगाया है कि लोगों से जुड़ाव ना होने से विपक्ष आत्मविश्वास खो चुका है। कल एक निजी समाचार चैनल को दिए साक्षात्कार में श्री मोदी ने कहा कि विपक्ष फर्ज़ी वीडियो के सहारे चुनाव जीतने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं पर इस देश में ऐसी हरकत कभी नहीं चल सकती। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि भारतीय जनता पार्टी न तो इस्लाम के खिलाफ है और न ही मुसलमानों के। उन्होंने कहा कि विपक्ष डर का माहौल बना कर अल्पसंख्यकों का लाभ उठा रही है। श्री मोदी ने कहा कि वे आरंभ से ही कहते रहे हैं कि धर्म आधारित आरक्षण नहीं होना चाहिए क्योंकि यह संविधान की भावना के विरूद्ध है।

The Palestinian militant group Hamas has accepted an Egyptian-Qatari cease-fire proposal to halt the seven-month war with Israel. Hamas in a statement said that its chief, Ismail Haniyeh, had accepted a ceasefire agreement during a phone call with the Qatari prime minister and Egyptian intelligence minister. The proposal involves three phases, with each lasting 42 days.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said that Hamas’ latest truce proposal falls short of Israel’s demands. However, Israel would send a delegation to meet with negotiators to try to reach an agreement, it added. Netanyahu’s office also said that his war cabinet unanimously decided to continue the operation in Rafah to exert military pressure on Hamas, aiming to facilitate the release of hostages and the other goals of the war.

उत्तराखंड में जंगल में आग लगने की नौ सौ तीस घटनाएं दर्ज हुई हैं जिनमें एक हज़ार एक हजार एक सौ 96 हेक्टेयर वन भूमि प्रभावित हुई है। आग लगने की कुल घटनाओं में चार सौ 91 कुमाऊं में और तीन सौ 65 गढ़वाल क्षेत्र में हुई हैं। कल गढ़वाल से लेकर कुमाऊं तक बीस स्थानों पर आग लगने की घटना में 52 हेक्टेयर से अधिक वन क्षेत्र जल कर नष्ट हो गया। गढ़वाल में सबसे अधिक दस और कुमाऊं में नौ ऐसी घटनाएं हुईं। कल वायु सेना के हेलीकॉप्टरों को पौडी गढ़वाल के श्रीनगर विधानसभा क्षेत्र के विभिन्न हिस्सों में आग बुझाने के काम में लगाने से आग पर काफी हद तक काबू पाया गया।

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heat wave conditions will abate over East India and over south Peninsular India from today onwards. Meanwhile, a fresh heat wave spell will be present over Western India covering Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during next 3 days.
The IMD has forecast a heavy rainfall spell with thunderstorms and gusty winds to continue over Northeast India today. In South India, these conditions will also continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka during next 4 days.
Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2 degrees Celsius over parts of Northwest India. Maximum temperatures are expected to fall by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over parts of East India during next 2 days.

The train travels through many districts in Tamil Nadu and the package is Rs. 18,850 per person for sleeper class travel spanning eight nights. The trip includes accommodation in Non AC hotels and Non AC transfers.

This is a start up specialising in indigenous perovskite solar cells manufacturing and is incubated within IIT Roorkee’s Incubation centre. The materials exhibit a remarkable capacity for light absorption, coupled with a broad absorption cross section, enabling efficient energy harvesting even in low light conditions.

The international delegates from the Election Commissions of five countries arrived in Belgavi district in North Karnataka yesterday to witness election preparations and the election process in the World’s biggest democracy. Ten senior election officials from Cambodia, Nepal, Maldives, Seychelles and Tunisia paid a visit to the district. The Belagavi district Deputy Commissioner who is also the District Election officer-Nitesh Patil, briefed the delegates about the preparations made for the election to be held today. The delegates later visited the Mustering Centre where the poll personnel collected EVMs and other election related material to leave for their respective polling booths. They sought information on the deployment of manpower, strong room, distribution process and the transport system for the polling personnel to reach their polling booths.
The international delegates also observed the operations of the Model Code of Conduct monitoring Command and Control room, the check points, webcasting facilities and the GPS aided vehicle movement by Flying Surveillance Teams.

In Telangana, about 14 thousand security personnel will be deployed in Hyderabad on polling day. Hyderabad Commissioner of Police K. Sreenivas Reddy had informed that about 14 thousand security personnel will be deployed in Hyderabad city on May 13. He said the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will provide 22 companies for beefing up the security. Out of these, six companies have already arrived while seven more will arrive in a day or two and nine others are expected to arrive later this week. As per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the CAPF personnel will be posted at the critical polling stations.
Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj has stressed on the need to increase the voter percentage in Hyderabad city and appealed to electors to come out and cast their vote on the polling day. He asked the poll officials to work hard to ensure that 60 to 65 per cent voting takes place in Hyderabad.

दिल्ली के उपराज्यपाल वी के सक्सेना ने मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के खिलाफ प्रतिबंधित संगठन सिख फॉर जस्टिस से पार्टी के लिए कथित चंदा लेने के मामले की राष्ट्रीय अन्वेषण अभिकरण-एनआईए से जांच कराने की सिफारिश की है। उपराज्यपाल ने गृह मंत्रालय को पत्र लिखा है कि मुख्यमंत्री ने अपनी पार्टी के लिए प्रतिबंधित आतंकी संगठन से कथित तौर पर एक करोड़ 60 लाख अमरीकी डॉलर का चंदा लिया है। उन्हें इस बारे में एक शिकायत मिली थी जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया है कि आम आदमी पार्टी ने 1993 में हुए दिल्ली बम विस्फोट के दोषी देवेन्द्र पाल भुल्लर को रिहा करने के बदले में यह पैसा लिया था।

दिल्ली की सात लोकसभा सीटों पर 25 मई को होने वाले मतदान में पहली बार पांच हजार अधिक बुजुर्ग और दिव्यांग मतदाता अपने घर से मतदान कर सकेंगे। निर्वाचन आयोग ने देश में पहली बार घर से मतदान करने की पहल शुरू की है, जिसके तहत 85 वर्ष से अधिक आयु के बुजुर्ग और 40 फीसदी या उससे अधिक दिव्यांग श्रेणी वाले मतदाता, अपने घरों से मत कर सकते हैं।

भारतीय जन संचार संस्थान- आईआईएमसी में पांच स्नातकोत्तर डिप्लोमा पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश के लिए ई-काउंसलिंग की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो गई है। शैक्षणिक सत्र 2024-25 के लिए पहली मेरिट लिस्ट 11 मई को घोषित की जाएगी। प्रवेश प्रक्रिया की जानकारी, संस्थान की वेबसाइट iimc.gov.in से ली जा सकती है। इस वर्ष भी कॉमन यूनिवर्सिटी एंट्रेंस टेस्ट (CUT PG) के माध्यम से ही विद्यार्थियों को प्रवेश दिया जा रहा है।

दिल्ली में लंबित ट्रैफिक चालानों के निपटारे के लिए 11 मई को राष्ट्रीय लोक अदालत का आयोजन किया जायेगा। दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस के अनुसार 11 मई को द्वारका, कडकडडूमा, पटियाला हाऊस, तीस हजारी, रोहिणी, साकेत और राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट परिसरों में 180 लोक अदालतें बैठेंगी, चालान निपटान के लिए वाहन स्वामियों को ट्रैफिक पुलिस की वेबसाइट traffic.delhipolice.gov.in पर सात मई को आवेदन कर चालान की पर्ची डाउनलोड करनी होगी।

शिवसेना उद्धव गुट के बागी उम्मीदवार विजय करंजकर ने नासिक निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से अपना नाम वापस ले लिया और सोमवार को महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे की उपस्थिति में शिव सेना में शामिल हो गए। श्री करंजकर ने कहा कि वह हेमंत गोडसे का समर्थन करेंगे, जिन्हें शिवसेना ने फिर से उम्मीदवार बनाया है। श्री करंजकर को नजरअंदाज करते हुए, शिवसेना (यूबीटी) ने नासिक से पराग राजाभाऊ वाजे को मैदान में उतारा है, जहां 20 मई को लोकसभा चुनाव के पांचवें चरण में मतदान होगा।

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने महाराष्ट्र सरकार द्वारा निजी गैर-सहायता प्राप्त स्कूलों को शिक्षा का अधिकार -आरटीई कोटा के तहत छात्रों को प्रवेश देने से छूट देने वाली हालिया अधिसूचना पर रोक लगा दी है। आरटीई अधिनियम सभी निजी स्कूलों को कक्षा 1 या प्री-प्राइमरी सेक्शन के लिए छात्रों का नामांकन करते समय 25 प्रतिशत सीटें आरक्षित करने की आवश्यकता होती है।

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में आरोपी जेट एयरवेज के संस्थापक नरेश गोयल को दो महीने की अंतरिम मेडिकल जमानत दे दी है। न्यायमूर्ति एनजे जमादार ने सोमवार को एक लाख रुपये की जमानत राशि का भुगतान करने पर गोयल को रिहा करने के आदेश जारी किए। कोर्ट ने आगे उन्हें मुंबई में ही रहने को कहा है।

पश्चिम बंगाल की चार सीटों पर कल मतदान होगा। मालदा उत्तर, मालदा दक्षिण, जंगीपुर और मुर्शिदाबाद में सुबह 7 बजे से शाम 6 बजे तक मतदान होगा। इन 4 सीटों के कुल 57 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं। मतदान को सफल और शांतिपूर्ण बनाने के लिए सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किये गये हैं। 13 हजार राज्य पुलिस समेत केंद्रीय बलों की 406 कंपनियां तैनात की गई हैं। सभी बूथों पर वेबकास्टिंग की जाएगी और किसी भी अप्रिय घटना को रोकने के लिए त्वरित प्रतिक्रिया टीम को तैनात किया जाएगा।

मुंबई – मायानगरी मुंबई में सुबह का तापमान 27 डिग्री रहा। दिन में पारा 33 डिग्री तक जा सकता है। यहां बारिश की संभावना तो नहीं है लेकिन आंशिक बादल छा सकते हैं।
कोलकाता – कोलकाता में आज कुछ समय के लिए घने बादल आ सकते हैं और तेज गर्जना के साथ हल्की बारिश हो सकती है। तापमान 35 और 25 डिग्री के बीच रहने के आसार हैं।

जयंतियाँ में आज सबसे पहले जानकारी
विश्वविख्यात कवि, साहित्यकार, दार्शनिक और भारतीय साहित्य के नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता रबीन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर की आज जयंती है। उन्हें गुरुदेव के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। बांग्ला साहित्य के माध्यम से भारतीय सांस्कृतिक चेतना में नयी जान फूँकने वाले युगदृष्टा रबीन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित होने वाले एशिया के पहले व्यक्ति हैं। वे एकमात्र कवि हैं जिसकी दो रचनाएँ दो देशों का राष्ट्रगान बनीं – भारत का राष्ट्र-गान ‘जन गण मन’ और बाँग्लादेश का राष्ट्रीय गान ‘आमार सोनार बांङ्ला’ गुरुदेव की ही रचनाएँ हैं।
Rabindranath Tagore FRAS 7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941 was a Bengali polymath who was active as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer, and painter during the age of Bengal Renaissance. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of the “profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful” poetry of Gitanjali, he became in 1913 the first non-European and the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.

As an exponent of the Bengal Renaissance, he advanced a vast canon that comprised paintings, sketches and doodles, hundreds of texts, and some two thousand songs; his legacy also endures in his founding of Visva-Bharati University. Tagore modernised Bengali art by spurning rigid classical forms and resisting linguistic strictures.

संस्कृत विद्वान् एवं प्राच्यविद्याविशारद भारत रत्न पांडुरंग वामन काणे की भी आज जयंती है। काणे ने अपने विद्यार्थी जीवन के दौरान संस्कृत में नैपुण्य एवं विशेषता के लिए सात स्वर्णपदक प्राप्त किए और संस्कृत में एम.एस. किया। बाद में बंबई विश्वविद्यालय से एल.एल.एम. की उपाधि प्राप्त की। इसी विश्वविद्यालय ने आगे चलकर आपको साहित्य में सम्मानित डाक्टर (डी. लिट्.) की उपाधि दी। भारत सरकार की ओर से आपको ‘महामहोपाध्याय’ की उपाधि से विभूषित किया गया।
उत्तररामचरित (1913 ई.), कादम्बरी (2 भाग, 1911 तथा 1918), हर्षचरित (2 भाग, 1918 तथा 1921), हिंदुओं के रीतिरिवाज तथा आधुनिक विधि (3 भाग, 1944), संस्कृत काव्यशास्त्र का इतिहास (1951) तथा धर्मशास्त्र का इतिहास (4 भाग, 1930-1953 ई.) इत्यादि आपकी अंग्रेजी में लिखित कृतियाँ हैं।
पेरिस, इस्तंबूल तथा कैंब्रिज में आयोजित प्राच्यविज्ञ सम्मेलनों में आपने भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। भंडारकर ओरयंटल रिसर्च इंस्टीट्यूट, पूना से भी आप काफी समय तक संबद्ध रहे।
साहित्य अकादमी ने सन् 1965 में धर्मशास्त्र का इतिहास पर पाँच हजार रुपए का साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार (संस्कृत) प्रदान कर आपके सम्मानित किया और 1963 में भारत सरकार ने आपको ‘भारतरत्न’ उपाधि से अलंकृत किया। 18 अप्रैल 1972 को 92 वर्ष की आयु में डॉ॰ काणे का देहांत हो गया।

V.Kumar is known as Mellisai MaamaNi, was introduced to Tamil film music by K. Balachander.He has used P.Susheela S. P. Balasubrahmanyam for many of his songs. He has been the aasthana MD for K. Balachandar films. Before that, he scored music for his Stage Dramas.
