This summer, various regions in the country are grappling with heatwave conditions, painting a picture of extreme weather phenomena. However, there is an evident lack of uniformity in the weather pattern stretching across the expansive geographical canvas of the country. Delhi today morning recorded a minimum temperature of 23.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average. The weather office has predicted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of drizzle and strong surface winds during the day.
बीच-बीच में हो रही बारिश ने लोगों को गर्मी से राहत जरूर दी है लेकिन हीटवेव का भी खतरा बना हुआ है. मौसम विभाग ने कहा कि अगले दो दिनों में पश्चिम बंगाल के गंगेय क्षेत्र तेलंगाना, कर्नाटक, तटीय आंध्र प्रदेश, रायलसीमा, झारखंड और तमिलनाडु में भीषण गर्मी का प्रकोप रहेगा। मध्य महाराष्ट्र, मराठावाड़ा, सौराष्ट्र, कच्छ और पश्चिम राजस्थान में भी अगले दो-तीन दिन यहीं स्थिति जारी रह सकती है।
भारतीय राष्ट्रीय महासागर सूचना सेवा केंद्र ने पूर्वानुमान व्यक्त किया है कि केरल और तमिलनाडु के समुद्र में ऊंची लहरों का प्रकोप बना रहेगा। यह स्थिति आज रात साढे 11 बजे तक बनी रह सकती है। फिलहाल समुद्र की लहरें शांत है। केरल के समुद्री तट पर अभी तक ऊंची लहरें उठने की कोई खबर नहीं है। नीचे के तटीय क्षेत्रों में ऊंची लहरों के कारण समुद्र जल स्तर में वृद्धि होने की आशंका से केरल में रेड अलर्ट जारी किया गया है। इस घटना को स्थानीय तौर पर कल्लकाडल के नाम से जाना जाता है। केरल राज्य आपदा प्रबधन प्राधिकरण ने समुद्र तटों पर मनोरंजक गतिविधियों को रद्द करने के निर्देश जारी किये हैं। लोगों को समुद्र तट पर नहीं जाने की सलाह दी गई है।
Now let’s understand the reason of these unusual weather conditions. Scientists have said climate change is contributing to more frequent, severe, and longer heatwaves during summer months. Most glaciers in the high-mountain region in Asia had lost significant mass because of record-breaking high temperatures and dry conditions. Climate change exacerbated the frequency and severity of such events.
The two key reasons behind the hot temperatures are – El Niño state and the persistent presence of anticyclone systems. Unfortunately, this year began in El Niño – which refers to an abnormal warming of surface waters in the equatorial Pacific Ocean.

India is a land of cultural diversity, dotted by a wide-ranging variety of customs, rituals, fairs and festivals. One such vibrant festival celebrated in our country is the Moatsü Festival, which occurs in the first week of May. This year, it started on the 1st of May and concluded on 3rd May. The Moatsü festival is celebrated by Ao tribes of Nagaland, a festival of community bonding celebrated in the first week of May every year, after the season of sowing is over. As a celebration, the villagers express their friendship for each other by exchanging gifts, making new friends, feasting, bon fire etc. The Moatsü festival is marked by lively and high-spirited songs and dances. Moatsu is a three-day harvest festival celebrated in May by the Ao tribe, primarily in the district of Mokokchung or wherever they are. The Aos perform dances as an expression of thanks to the god for a good harvest.
After the rigorous effort of clearing fields, burning jungles, seeding crops, cleaning up the Tsubu (wells), and repairs and construction of houses by elders, the festival gives people a three-day period of recreation and entertainment. Originally, the Moatsü used to be held for six days. This 3-day festival is seen as a sort of reward for those who have put in lengthy hours in the fields.
The women folk dressed in their traditional fineries join the men folk in composing warrior song. Villagers sing songs to eulogize the lovers and the village folk as a whole. The elders encourage the youth to be bold and heroic for defending the villages from enemies, a custom continued from the head hunting days.

भारत सरकार के पहल के तहत देश भर के विभिन्न राज्यों के चुनिन्दा जिलों में प्रौढ़ बी सी जी टीकाकरण अध्ययन अभियान की शुरूआत की गई है। अंडमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह में दक्षिण अंडमान और मध्योत्तर अंडमान ज़िले की पहचान हुई है, जहां टीकाकरण अभियान चलाया जा रहा है। और जानकारी हमारे संवाददाता से –
अंडमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह को क्षय रोग मुक्त करने और इससे ग्रसित लोगों के उपचार के लिए शुरू किया गया यह टीकाकरण अभियान इस वर्ष चौबीस मार्च को विश्व क्षय रोग के अवसर पर इन द्वीपों में भी शुरू किया गया। राज्य क्षय रोग अधिकारी डॉ. पी लाल ने बताया कि तीस मार्च से हर शनिवार यह टीका दिया जा रहा है और अब तक दो हजार चार सौ लोगों को टीका लगाया जा चुका है। उन्होंने कहा कि इस अभियान के तहत अट्ठारह वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के ऐसे लोग जो ध्रुमपान करते हैं या मधुमेह से ग्रसित हैं, या जिनका वजन कम है जो शायद कुपोषण के शिकार हो, उन्हें यह टीका दिया जाएगा। इसके अलावा साठ वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के सभी लोगों को यह टीका लगाया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि पिछले पांच वर्ष के दौरान तपेदिक के मरीज जिनका इलाज किया जा चुका है उन्हें और साथ ही पिछले तीन वर्षां के दौरान टी बी के इलाज से ठीक हुए लोगों के परिजन जो हमेशा उनके संपर्क में रहते हैं, उन्हें भी यह टीका दिया जाएगा और ऐसे सभी लोगों को तपेदिक की बीमारी है या नहीं इसकी भी जांच की जाएगी। टीकाकरण अभियान चलाने से पहले स्वास्थ्य केन्द्र के लोगों ने घर–घर जाकर सर्वेक्षण कर लोगों की पहचान की और उसके बाद द्वीपों में इस अभियान की शुरूआत हुई है। राज्य क्षय रोग अधिकारी ने कहा कि जो लोग टी बी से अब भी ग्रसित हैं, उन्हें यह टीका नहीं दिया जाएगा। गर्भवती महिलाओं, स्तनपान कराने वाली माताओं या बहुत अधिक बीमार लोगों को भी यह टीका नहीं लगाया जाएगा। टीका लगाने से पहले मरीजों से दोबारा पूछताछ की जाती है और उसके बाद ही उन्हें टीका लगाया जाता है। टीकाकरण अभियान का उद्देश्य तपेदिक मुक्त भारत की ओर बढ़ता हुआ एक कदम है। परिक्रमा के लिए पोर्ट ब्लेयर से मैं राकेश चन्दर लाल

In Kerala, a new species of marine tardigrade was found and named named after Chandrayaan-3. A report –
In Kerala , the researchers from the Department of Marine Biology, Cochin University of Science and Technology ,CUSAT, have discovered a new species of marine tardigrade, colloquially known as water bears ,a phylum of eight-legged segmented micro-animals. This microscopic organism has been named as Batillipes Chandrayaani, as a homage to the Chandrayaan-3, the first-ever successful lunar south pole landing mission hosted by the Indian Space Research Organisation ,ISRO in 2023. This newly described species was found in the intertidal beach sediments of Mandapam coast, Tamil Nadu. The present species is similar in size to other tardigrades, measuring around 0.15 mm in length and 0.04 mm in width characterised by four pairs of legs. The researches said that much like the space mission to unravel the secrets of the Moon, Batillipes Chandrayaani represents the vast potential for scientific discovery that lies hidden within our oceans. Tardigrades are among the toughest animals on earth which have survived all five mass extinctions, also the first known animal to survive after exposure to outer space. In celebration of the 65th Raising Day of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), Project Swastik orchestrated a series of captivating activities showcasing the organization’s commitment to excellence and community engagement.
Amidst the breathtaking landscapes of North Sikkim, Project Swastik hosted a spectacular bike rally, featuring nine skilled bikers navigating through challenging terrains. Commencing from the iconic Rangma range, the rally wound its way through scenic locales including Lachen, Zeema, Donkhyala Pass, and Lachung, before returning to the starting point. The event not only honored BRO’s legacy of connectivity but also highlighted the exceptional skills of its personnel.
The rally was flagged off by Pipen of Lachen, witnessed by various civil society members. Riders were warmly welcomed at key stops including Lachen, Thangu, Shivmandir, and Lachung, where they engaged with locals, spreading awareness about BRO’s initiatives to restore connectivity in the region.
In the vibrant city of Gangtok, over 300 BRO personnel led by the Chief Engineer participated in an energetic walkathon covering a distance of 2.5 kilometers. Starting at the plant nursery between Tashi View Point and Ganesh Tok, the route led participants on a scenic journey culminating at Tashi View Point. देश के अन्य हिस्सों के साथ-साथ पंजाब में भी लोकसभा चुनाव की तैयारियां जोर शोर से चल रही हैं I मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी कार्यालय मतदाताओं को जागरूक करने के लिए विशेष अभियान चला रहा है I भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के स्वीप कार्यक्रम के तहत अनेक शिक्षण संस्थानों और सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर अनेक गतिविधियां आयोजित की जा रही हैं I राज्य में सातवें और आखिरी चरण में एक जून को होने वाले मतदान के लिए अधिसूचना सात मई को जारी की जाएगी I
पंजाब के दोआबा, माझा और मालवा के इलाकों में फैले कुल 13 लोकसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में चार अनुसूचित जाति वर्ग के लिए आरक्षित हैं I राज्य में मतदाताओं की कुल संख्या 2 करोड़ 12 लाख 71 हज़ार 246 है जो कि वर्ष 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव की तुलना में 3 लाख 78 हज़ार 573 अधिक है I 4 लाख 89 हज़ार 631 युवा मतदाता पहली बार अपने मताधिकार का उपयोग करेंगे I सबसे अधिक युवा मतदाता सीमावर्ती लोकसभा क्षेत्र गुरदासपुर में 48 हजार से कुछ अधिक हैं जबकि लुधियाना लोकसभा क्षेत्र में इसी वर्ग के मतदाताओं की संख्या सबसे कम करीब 31 हजार है । लोकसभा चुनाव में पहली बार मतदान करने वाले मतदाताओं को भारत निर्वाचन आयोग विशेष रूप से प्रोत्साहित कर रहा है और इन मतदाताओं को बूथ स्तर के अधिकारियों द्वारा प्रमाण पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया जाएगा । इसी तरह 85 वर्ष से अधिक उम्र के मतदाताओं की संख्या दो लाख 55 हजार से अधिक है और इनमें पांच हजार एक सौ से अधिक ऐसे मतदाता सौ साल से अधिक उम्र के हैं I इन सभी बुजुर्ग मतदाताओं को अपने घर से ही वोट डालने की सुविधा मिलेगी I सन 2019 के आम चुनाव में 65. 9-4 प्रतिशत मतदान दर्ज किया गया था । ऐसे में अब मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी का कार्यालय लोगों को अपने मताधिकार के उपयोग के प्रति जागरूक करने के लिए पिछले कई दिनों से स्वीप कार्यक्रम के तहत विशेष अभियान चला रहा है ताकि भारत निर्वाचन आयोग के लक्ष्य ‘इस बार-70 पार‘ को हासिल किया जा सके I परिक्रमा के लिए जालंधर से शिशु शर्मा शांतल

सुप्रसिद्ध तबला वादक पंडित किशन महाराज की आज पुण्यतिथि है। बनारस घराने के तबला वादक पंडित किशन महाराज को कला क्षेत्र में योगदान के लिए भारत सरकार ने 1973 में पद्म श्री और 2002 में पद्म विभूषण से भी सम्मानित किया। किशन महाराज तबले के उस्ताद होने के साथ साथ मूर्तिकार, चित्रकार, वीर रस के कवि और ज्योतिष के मर्मज्ञ भी थे। किशन महाराज ने तबला वादन के अपने शुरूआती समय में ही उस्ताद फ़ैयाज़ ख़ाँ, पंडित ओंकार ठाकुर, उस्ताद बड़े ग़ुलाम अली खां, पंडित भीमसेन जोशी, वसंत राय, पंडित रवि शंकर, उस्ताद अली अकबर खान जैसे बड़े नामों के साथ संगत की। उन्होंने एकल तबला वादन से भी कई बार श्रोताओं के बीच समा बांधा। नृत्य की दुनिया के महान् हस्ताक्षर शंभु महाराज, सितारा देवी, नटराज गोपी कृष्ण और बिरजू महाराज के कार्यक्रमों में भी उन्होंने संगत की। उन्होंने एडिनबर्ग और ब्रिटेन में कॉमनवेल्थ कला समारोह के साथ ही कई अवसरों पर अपने कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत कर प्रतिष्ठा अर्जित की। उनके शिष्यों में वर्तमान समय के जाने माने तबला वादक पंडित कुमार बोस, पंडित बालकृष्ण अय्यर, सुखविंदर सिंह नामधारी सहित अन्य नाम शामिल हैं।

‘कर्नाटक संगीत’ के महान् ज्ञाता, प्रसिद्ध संगीतज्ञ और भक्तिमार्ग के कवि त्यागराज की आज जयंती है। उन्होंने भगवान श्रीराम को समर्पित भक्ति गीतों की रचना की थी। उनके सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीत अभी भी धार्मिक आयोजनों में गाए जाते हैं। त्यागराज ने समाज एवं साहित्य के साथ-साथ कला को समृद्ध किया। उनकी विद्वता उनकी हर कृति में झलकती है, हालांकि ‘पंचरत्न’ कृति को उनकी सर्वश्रेष्ठ रचना कहा जाता है। वह अपनी कृतियों में भगवान राम को मित्र, मालिक, पिता और सहायक बताते थे। तंजावुर नरेश त्यागराज की प्रतिभा से बहुत प्रभावित थे। उन्होंने त्यागराज को दरबार में शामिल होने के लिए आमंत्रित भी किया था। लेकिन प्रभु की उपासना में डूबे त्यागराज ने उनके आकर्षक प्रस्ताव को अस्वीकार कर दिया। उन्होंने राजा के प्रस्ताव को अस्वीकार कर प्रसिद्ध कृति “निधि चल सुखम” यानी ‘क्या धन से सुख की प्राप्ति हो सकती है’ की रचना की थी। ऐसा भी कहा जाता है कि त्यागराज के भाई ने श्रीराम की वह मूर्ति, जिसकी पूजा-अर्चना आदि त्यागराज किया करते थे, पास ही कावेरी नदी में फेंक दी थी। त्यागराज अपने इष्ट से अलगाव को बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सके और घर से निकल पड़े। इस क्रम में उन्होंने दक्षिण भारत के लगभग सभी प्रमुख मंदिरों की यात्रा की और उन मंदिरों के देवताओं की स्तुति में गीत बनाए। त्यागराज ने क़रीब 600 कृतियों की रचना करने के अलावा तेलुगु में दो नाटक ‘प्रह्लाद भक्ति विजय’ और ‘नौका चरितम’ भी लिखे। ‘प्रह्लाद भक्ति विजय’ जहां पांच दृश्यों में 45 कृतियों का नाटक है, वहीं ‘नौका चरितम’ एकांकी है और इसमें 21 कृतियां हैं। त्यागराज की विद्वता उनकी हर कृति में झलकती है। हालांकि ‘पंचरत्न’ कृति को उनकी सर्वश्रेष्ठ रचना कहा जाता है। सैंकड़ों गीतों के अलावा उन्होंने उत्सव संप्रदाय ‘कीर्तनम’ और ‘दिव्यनाम कीर्तनम’ की भी रचनाएं कीं। उन्होंने संस्कृत में भी गीतों की रचना की। हालांकि उनके अधिकतर गीत तेलुगु में हैं।
