Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will hold a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart Gen Nakatani in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, has said that during the meeting both sides will exchange views and ideas on the current regional and international security situation and discuss ways to further deepen the bilateral defense cooperation.
India and Japan share a long-term friendship, which has further gained qualitative momentum after the elevation of this collaboration to Special Strategic and Global Partnership in 2014. Defence and security are important pillars of the ties between these two countries. Defense exchanges between India and Japan have gained strength in recent years due to the growing convergence on strategic matters. This will be the second meeting between the two Defence Ministers within six months after their maiden interaction in November 2024 on the sidelines of ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus at Laos. भारत जीनोम-संवर्धित चावल की किस्में विकसित करने वाला दुनिया का पहला देश बन गया है। कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद-आईसीएआर द्वारा विकसित चावल की दो किस्मों को लॉन्च किया। नई दिल्ली में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में श्री चौहान ने इस परियोजना से जुड़े वैज्ञानिकों को बधाई दी और कहा कि देश को अपने कृषि वैज्ञानिकों की क्षमता पर भरोसा है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह शोध प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के विकसित भारत के संकल्प में मील का पत्थर साबित होगा। कृषि मंत्री ने कहा कि बढ़ती आबादी की पोषण संबंधी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए देश को उत्पादन बढ़ाने की जरूरत है। उन्होंने कहा कि चावल की ये दोनों किस्में न केवल किसानों के लिए बल्कि आम जनता के लिए भी फायदेमंद हैं। इन किस्मों को आंध्र प्रदेश, बिहार, उत्तर प्रदेश, तेलंगाना, कर्नाटक, तमिलनाडु, छत्तीसगढ़, महाराष्ट्र, पश्चिम बंगाल और मध्य प्रदेश के लिए विकसित किया गया है।

On the first day of Bihar Khelo India Youth Games yesterday, some fantastic performances were witnessed in different sporting events. Maharashtra archers ranked top in three of four events. In girls category, Tejal Rajendra Salve of Maharashtra clinched the top position in the charts in the compound qualifying round at Bhagalpur. She scored 697 points.
In Boy's category, Andhra Pradesh’s Kodandapani Thaurneesh Jathya earned the top rank in the boys’ recurve qualifying round with a total of 655 points in Archery. In the same event Meghalaya’s archer Devraj Mohapatra secured second position. Meanwhile, on the opening day of volleyball competition in the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, Jammu and Kashmir overturned a 1-2 deficit to beat Uttarakhand 3-2 in boys Group A and Gujarat beat Kerala 3-0 in girls Group B. In other girls matches, West Bengal beat Bihar 3-0 in Group A and Tamil Nadu defeated Jharkhand 3-0 in Group B.

The unexpected rains and strong winds on Sunday evening disrupted flight operations at Chennai airport leading to the diversion of several incoming flights and delays in departures. Windspeeds reached approximately 46.5 km per hour. Flights departing to various destinations were delayed from 30 minutes to two hours due to weather conditions. Power supply was suspended as a precautionary measure due to strong winds and overcast conditions. People of Chennai got relief from the sweltering heat as the city temperatures that had soared to nearly 39 degree Celsius fell to 33 degree Celsius due to the sudden rains.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister - D K Shivakumar informed that the pump sets of farmers will run on solar power. This will be made possible through the ''Kusuma programme'', by installing 20 mega-watt solar power units in every taluk of the state.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for various development projects in ''Akki Alur'' Village of Hangal assembly Constituency in Haveri District in North Karnataka.
By installing solar power units in every taluk, the pump sets that pump water to the agriculture fields will get water throughout the day.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister-Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate 285 kilometres of 14 national highway projects built at an estimated cost of over six thousand crore rupees in the state today.
Mr Gadkari will inaugurate the four-lane National Highway-363 at Kagaznagar X Road in Asifabad district this morning. He will formally inaugurate the BHEL and Amberpet flyovers later in the evening.
The Union Minister will also lay foundation stone of several road widening projects in Telangana.
Union Coal Minister and BJP Telangana State President G Kishan Reddy informed that the Central Government is prioritising infrastructure development in 90 % of districts nationwide, aiming to transform the country’s landscape. Contestants from across the globe have begun arriving in Hyderabad for the Miss World pageant set to take place in Telangana this month. Contestants from 120 countries will reach Hyderabad in the next couple of days.
The 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant will be held in Telangana from 10th to 31st of this month, including the grand finale.
The Telangana government has chalked out an action plan to boost the state’s global brand image and attract investments by leveraging the upcoming Miss World contest. An official statement revealed that the government plans to showcase the state’s rich historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage to the world and promote the state as a "Multidimensional Tourism Hub" on the global map.
The Miss World participants will tour prominent tourist attractions across the state. Their itinerary includes heritage sites from the Nizam era in Hyderabad and the UNESCO-listed Ramappa temple in Warangal.

Naushad Ali (25 December 1919 – 5 May 2006) was an Indian composer for Hindi films. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest and foremost music directors of the Hindi film industry. He is particularly known for popularising the use of classical music in films. His first film as an independent music director was Prem Nagar in 1940. His first musically successful film was Rattan (1944), followed by 35 silver jubilee hits, 12 golden jubilee and 3 diamond jubilee mega successes. हिन्दी फ़िल्मों के प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार नौशाद अली पहली फ़िल्म में संगीत देने के 64 साल बाद तक अपने साज का जादू बिखेरते रहने के बावजूद नौशाद ने केवल 67 फ़िल्मों में ही संगीत दिया, लेकिन उनका कौशल इस बात की जीती जागती मिसाल है कि गुणवत्ता संख्याबल से कहीं आगे होती है।
16 वर्ष की उम्र में वे मुंबई आ गये। 1940 में बनी 'प्रेम नगर' में नौशाद को पहली बार स्वतंत्र रूप से संगीत निर्देशन का मौका मिला। इसके बाद एक और फ़िल्म 'स्टेशन मास्टर' भी सफल रही। उसके बाद तो जैसे नौशाद संगीत के मोतियों की माला-सी बुनते चले गए। नौशाद को पहली बार 'सुनहरी मकड़ी' फ़िल्म में हारमोनियम बजाने का अवसर मिला। यह फ़िल्म पूरी नहीं हो सकी लेकिन शायद यहीं से नौशाद का सुनहरा सफ़र शुरू हुआ।
यह नौशाद के संगीत का ही जादू था कि 'मुग़ल-ए-आजम', 'बैजू बावरा', 'अनमोल घड़ी', 'शारदा', 'आन', 'संजोग' आदि कई फ़िल्मों को न केवल हिट बनाया बल्कि कालजयी भी बना दिया।
दीदार' के गीत- 'बचपन के दिन भुला न देना', 'हुए हम जिनके लिए बरबाद', 'ले जा मेरी दुआएँ ले जा परदेश जाने वाले' आदि की बदौलत इस फ़िल्म ने लंबे समय तक चलने का रिकॉर्ड क़ायम किया। 'बैजू बावरा' की सफलता से नौशाद को सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीतकार का पहला फ़िल्मफेयर अवॉर्ड भी मिला। संगीत में उनके उल्लेखनीय योगदान के लिए फालके अवॉर्ड, 'लता अलंकरण' तथा 1992 में पद्म भूषण से उन्हें नवाज़ा गया।

गुलशन कुमार दुआ (जयंती) आज प्रसिद्ध निर्माता-निर्देशक, गायक और व्यवसायी गुलशन कुमार दुआ वह 'टी-सीरीज़' के संस्थापक थे। गुलशन कुमार का नाम फिल्मी दुनिया की उन हस्तियों में शुमार हैं जिन्होंने काफी कम समय में ही शोहरत की उन बुलंदियों को हासिल कर लिया था, जहां पहुंचना हर किसी का सपना होता है। उन्होंने टी-सीरीज़ कैसेट्स के माध्यम से अधिकांश देवी-देवताओं के भजन व गीत जनता के बीच ला दिये। इनमें से अधिकांश गीत बेहद ही सफल रहे हैं। उन्होंने ढेर सारे भक्ति गाने गाए जिन्हें लोग आज भी खूब पसंद करते हैं। गुलशन कुमार की आवाज में भक्ति संगीत 'मैं बालक तू माता शेरा वालिये' को लोगों ने हमेशा पसंद किया है।
