रेल मंत्रालय ने रेल टिकट बुकिंग को आसान और अधिक सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए भारतीय रेलवे कैटरिंग एंड टूरिज्म कॉरपोरेशन-आईआरसीटीसी की वेबसाइट का एक नया वर्जन जारी किया है। आईआरसीटीसी ने इस वर्जन में चार बड़े सुधार किए हैं। पहला इसमें फालतू कैप्चा, पॉप-अप या ध्यान भटकाने वाली दूसरी चीज़ें नहीं हैं। दूसरा, यात्री सभी क्लास में सीट की उपलब्धता देख सकते हैं। तीसरा, इसमें टिकट बुक करने के लिए ज़रूरी स्टेप्स की संख्या कम है और वेबसाइट अब यात्रियों की जानकारी सेव कर लेगी, जिससे दोबारा बुकिंग करना आसान हो जाएगा।
मौजूदा वेबसाइट के होमपेज पर भी इस नए बीटा वर्जन का लिंक उपलब्ध है। मंत्रालय ने उपयोगकर्ताओं से इसके आसान फ़ीचर्स पर फ़ीडबैक देने का अनुरोध किया है। आईआरसीटीसी वेबसाइट पहली बार 2002 में शुरू की गई थी और अभी यह हर दिन औसतन लगभग साढे चौदह लाख टिकट बुकिंग संभालती है। इसके काम करने के तरीके और फ़ीचर्स को लेकर बहुत सारी शिकायतें थीं।

In Gujarat, the 149th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath commenced today from the 400 years old Jagannath temple in the Jamalpur area of Ahmedabad temple in old city of Ahmedabad amid tight security. Devotees in large numbers have thronged the temple premises to catch a glimpse of the deity.
“In Ahmedabad, the centuries-old tradition of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath is being celebrated today with immense religious fervor and gaiety on the auspicious occasion of Ashadha Shukla Dwitiya. Earlier this morning, Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the Mangala Aarti at the historic Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur and sought the blessings of the almighty. Following this, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the symbolic ‘Pahind Vidhi’-cleansing the chariot route with a golden broom-and officially flagged off the grand procession. The majestic chariots of Lord Jagannath, Brother Balabhadra, and Sister Subhadra are moving along the traditional 16-kilometer route, accompanied by dozens of akhadas, bhajan mandalis, and vibrant folk dance troupes. To ensure absolute safety, the local administration has deployed unprecedented security measures, including over 30,000 police personnel. The Greater Chennai Corporation has extended its special property tax collection camps till 31st of July. Of the 14.23 lakh assessed property owners in the city, only 6.98 lakh have paid the tax so far. Around 7.25 lakh property owners are yet to clear their dues. The civic body’s annual property tax collection is around Rs 1800 Crore. Of which 96 Crore rupees was collected during the special camps between July 3 and 15.

An earthquake tremor of 3 magnitude occurred at Krishnagiri in Tamilnadu on last evening with mild tremors felt in parts of the adjoinng areas of Karnataka. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said the Karnataka Government is committed to ensuring full ownership rights for apartment owners through the proposed Karnataka Apartment (Ownership and Management) Act, 2026.
Interacting with representatives of Apartment Associations in Bengaluru, he said the proposed law aims to protect property buyers and resolve long-pending issues related to apartment ownership and management. He invited stakeholders to submit suggestions on the draft legislation by August 6.
The Chief Minister said nearly 26 lakh properties in Bengaluru have been issued e-Khatas. He added that the government is strengthening civic infrastructure, promoting planned urban development and taking steps to make rainwater harvesting mandatory in apartment complexes while enhancing Bengaluru’s appeal as a global investment destination.

The Election Commission of India has extended the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka by nearly two weeks.
Under the revised schedule, booth-level officers will complete house-to-house visits by August 8, while the draft electoral rolls will be published on August 17. The final electoral roll will now be published on October 19 instead of October 7.
Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbukkumar said over 95 per cent of voters identified from the 2002 electoral roll have already been issued revision forms.

Karnataka secured investment commitments worth 2,821 crore rupees through 12 Memoranda of Understanding signed at Bharat Tex 2026 in New Delhi. The projects are expected to generate 11,020 jobs across the State’s textile and apparel sector. Karnataka was the only State to sign MoUs at the event.
The investments cover spinning, apparel manufacturing, textile processing, technical and medical textiles, hygiene products and integrated textile parks across nine districts.

Chairing a high-level review meeting, HMRL Additional Managing Director B. Ajit Reddy directed officials to draft comprehensive plans focusing on passenger amenities, safety, cleanliness, and crowd management.
To address the heavy passenger rush, the Additional MD instructed officials to expedite talks with manufacturers for procuring additional coaches.

From tech hubs like Bengaluru and Hyderabad to rural areas, AI is transforming healthcare, education, agriculture, governance, and industry in the country.

1930 में जब गांधी का नमक आंदोलन शुरू हुआ तो अरुणा ने पहली बार इसमें भाग लिया। इस दौरान वे गिरफ्तार भी हुईं और उन्हें 1 साल की सजा भी हुई। लेकिन जेल जाने के बाद भी वे टूटी नहीं। बाहर आकर फिर से आंदोलन का हिस्सा बनीं। लेकिन दूसरी बार फिर उन्हें जेल हुई। इस बार अरुणा ने जेल के अंदर मुजरिमों के साथ होने वाले अमानवीय व्यवहार और अत्याचार के लिए अभियान चलाए, भूख हड़तालें कीं।
अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ कई आंदोलन चल रहे थे। जब गांधी ने नमक सत्याग्रह के बाद 1942 में ‘भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन’ शुरू किया तो अरुणा ने इसमें भाग लिया। लंबी लड़ाई के बाद में अरुणा ने मुंबई के ग्वालियर टैंक मैदान में तिरंगा फहराकर अपनी बहादुरी दिखाई। ऐसा कहा जाता है कि इस दिलेरी की वजह से अंग्रेजों ने अरुणा की गिरफ्तारी पर 5 हजार रूपए का इनाम रख दिया था।अरुणा आसफ अली के योगदान के लिए उन्हें 1975 में इन्हें लेनिन शांति पुरस्कार और जवाहरलाल नेहरु पुरस्कार भी मिला। 29 जुलाई 1996 को अरुणा आसफ अली का निधन हो गया। निधन के बाद उन्हें भारत के सर्वोच्च सम्मान ‘भारतरत्न’ से नवाजा गया था।
