The budget session of the Kerala Legislative Assembly will commence today with the address of Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlerkar. Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal will present the state Budget on the 29th of this month. The session is expected to be the final sitting of the current Assembly before the completion of its term. The session, scheduled up to March 26 may be cut short if the Election Commission announces the Assembly election schedule in the meanwhile. With informal electioneering already underway, it is expected to see sharp political exchanges on the floor.
