BMS, NFITU and Industry Bodies Welcome Implementation of New Labour Codes

The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has welcomed the implementation of the four new Labour Codes. BMS National Secretary Girish Arya said that this decision is the biggest reform made in favour of workers since Independence. He added that it will empower labourers and make compliance easier.

The National President of the National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU), Dr Deepak Jaiswal, said that around fifty crore people are working in the unorganised sector, and their minimum wage will now be fully ensured with the implementation of the new Labour Codes. He said that there is also a provision for equal pay for equal work for women. In terms of personal health and safety, the old laws have now been updated with many modern provisions.

Welcoming the new Labour Codes, Nasscom said that the notification of key provisions marks an important step in India’s labour reform journey. It said that greater clarity on wages, safety, and social security will support a stronger workforce. Nasscom added that it will work closely with all stakeholders to help the industry navigate this change with confidence. In Chandigarh, workers have welcomed the new Labour codes, saying that these laws are in the interests of workers.
