A delegation of Punjab BJP led by its President, Sunil Jakhar today met the Punjab Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria and handed over a memorandum expressing grave concerns over constitutional misconduct, deterioration of governance and misuse of state machinery in Punjab. It has been mentioned in the memorandum that as widely reported in media and publicly discussed that the Chief Minister attended recently held one-day special Vidhan Sabha session in an inebriated condition, is a cause of concern. Though this charge has been vehemently denied by the AAP.

The party has requested the Governor to seek a detailed report on the conduct of the Chief Minister and take appropriate constitutional measures. The party has also demanded a direct and impartial enquiry into the alleged misuse of police and regulatory agencies for political purposes. Jakhar was accompanied by BJP’s state working president, Ashwani Sharma, former union minister Vijay Sampla and former MP, Shwait Malik besides other party leaders. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, while addressing a Lok Milni in Mohali, yesterday, has said that Opposition parties are hatching conspiracies to defame him as they are envious of the works being done by the state government for the well-being of the masses.
