Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. While inaugurating new projects worth over 3,000 crore rupees and flagging off several trains at Malda, West Bengal.
Prime Minister highlighted illegal infiltration as the state’s gravest challenge, stating it has reached a critical stage that is altering regional demography and local languages.
Mr. Modi pointed out that while many wealthy nations are actively deporting illegal immigrants, the TMC government has failed to do so for political reasons. He linked this issue directly to the lack of employment opportunities for the state’s youth.
The Prime Minister also accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of obstructing central welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and the Jal Jeevan Mission. Citing a recent CAG report, he alleged that funds intended for flood relief had been misappropriated by TMC leaders.
Contrasting this with the BJP’s track record, he noted the significant increase in the minimum support price and central funding for jute cultivation since 2014, while promising targeted development for Malda’s mango and silk industries.
