BJP leader Samrat Choudhary to be sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister tomorrow

 
Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary will take oath as the new Chief Minister of the state tomorrow. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at Lok Bhavan in Patna at 11 AM. He will be the first BJP leader to assume the top post in the state. 
Earlier in the day, Mr. Choudhary met Governor Lieutenant General (Retired) Syed Ata Hasnain at Lok Bhawan and staked his claim to form the government. He was unanimously elected as leader during NDA legislature Party meeting. 
The development comes following resignation of JD(U) President Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister of Bihar after his election to the Rajya Sabha recently.
  Earlier, in the afternoon, a meeting of the BJP Legislative Party was held at the party’s state headquarters in Patna. During the meeting, Senior leader Vijay Kumar Sinha proposed name of Samrat Choudhary as the leader of the legislative party. The proposal was seconded by Dilip Jaiswal. Later Central Observer and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement in this regard. 
  BJP leader Samrat Choudhary who is an MLA from Tarapur expressed his commitment to fulfill his new duties with utmost integrity. Talking to reporters, Mr Choudhary emphasized that it is an opportunity to serve the people of Bihar and to realize their trust and dreams.  BJP, is the single largest party in the 243-member Bihar Assembly with 89 MLAs.
