Baruipur Subdivisional Court pronounces 6-day police custody for manager & deputy manager of Wow Momo Godown at Nazirabad 

In West Bengal, the Baruipur Subdivisional court today pronounced six days’ police custody to the manager and deputy manager of the ill-fated wow momo godown at Nazirabad of the Narendrapur area of the South 24 Parganas district, where in a fire incident, 25 workers died and 27are  still missing. They were arrested yesterday. 
 
BJP demanded the arrest of the persons associated with the Nazirabad fire incident at Narendrapur in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari led a protest march today, alleging that the main culprit in the incident had accompanied Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her foreign trip in the past. He demanded 50 lakhs rupees ex-gratia and a job for the family members of the dead. Governor Dr C V Ananda Bose today visited the site.
 
He said that complete negligence on the part of the administration and the owner of the establishment is the cause of the incident. The godown caught fire in the intervening night of 25th and 26th January while workers were reportedly present inside.
