The Assam Rifles paid solemn tribute to Havildar John Famhoite of the 17 Assam Regiment, who was laid to rest with full military honours at Rengkai in the Churachandpur district of Manipur yesterday. The ceremonial last rites were conducted with utmost dignity and reverence, reflecting the nation’s deep respect and gratitude for his dedicated service and supreme sacrifice.

Officials and troops, together with around 25 veterans, family members, ex-servicemen and local residents, gathered in an atmosphere of profound emotion and patriotism to bid a final farewell. A wreath was laid on behalf of all ranks by the Sector Commander, Assam Rifles, Churachandpur, honouring the departed soldier and expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
