ASML–Tata MoU marks significant step in strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that semiconductor chips will soon be manufactured in India using advanced equipment following a recently signed MoU between ASML and Tata.

Addressing a meeting with Dutch CEOs in the Netherlands, the Prime Minister said the agreement marks a significant step in strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem and reflects growing global confidence in India’s capabilities. He added that the optimism expressed by global business leaders towards India must be translated into concrete outcomes.

Describing India as “a symbol of scale and stability,” the Prime Minister said the country today stands as the world’s fastest-growing major economy and the largest talent pool, with unmatched speed in infrastructure development, clean energy adoption, and connectivity expansion.

He also highlighted that a new phase in India–Europe relations has begun following the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement, describing it as a landmark pact between two major democratic and responsible global powers.

The Prime Minister noted that India has emerged as a key hub for global services and innovation, with major technology companies establishing Global Capability Centres in the country. He invited global businesses to design and innovate in India, stressing that there has never been a better time to invest and expand in the country.

Reiterating the strength of India–Netherlands relations, he said the strategic partnership between the two countries is opening new opportunities for business collaboration and urged industry leaders to scale up their investments and ambitions in India.
