Asia’s largest Tulip Garden in Srinagar opens for visitors in Jammu & Kashmir

In Jammu & Kashmir, Asia’s largest Tulip Garden in Srinagar was opened for visitors today. Located on the foothills of the Zabarwan Range overlooking Dal Lake, the garden has been fully prepared to welcome local, domestic and foreign tourists.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated Tulip Show-2026 at the Tulip Garden, Srinagar and took a tour of the garden. This year, around 18 lakh tulips of over 70 varieties, along with nearly one lakh other bulbous flowers, including daffodils, hyacinths and narcissus, have been planted. This has added vibrant colours to the valley’s spring landscape. The Chief Minister appealed to tourists from across the country and around the world to visit Jammu & Kashmir during the spring season and experience its unmatched natural beauty.

Talking to Akashvani News Srinagar, Director of Floriculture Kashmir, Mat Hoora Masoom, talked about various features of the Tulip Show and innovative measures taken for the attraction of the visitors:

Last year, over 8 Lakh 55 Thousand (855,125) local, domestic and foreign tourists visited the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden, surpassing all previous records. It is hoped that Tulip Show 2026 will give a fillip to the tourism activities in the Kashmir region, as several offbeat tourist destinations have been added to the list of tourist destinations in the Kashmir region.
