In Jammu & Kashmir, the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has been temporarily halted due to bad weather conditions in most areas in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions. Official sources confirmed that in view of heavy rainfall along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes, the authorities have decided to suspend Amarnath Ji Yatra for today. An official at Bhagwati Nagar Jammu Base Camp told Akashvani News Srinagar that no Yatra convoy has been allowed to move from the Jammu Base camp towards Kashmir today. He said this is a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing weather conditions with heavy rainfall on the Yatra tracks and elsewhere in Kashmir and Jammu regions. Meanwhile, around two lakh fifty thousand pilgrims had darshan of the Shiv Lingam at the Holy Cave Shrine during the past 14 days till last evening.
