Advance registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra will begin from April 15 at over 550 designated bank branches across the country. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board said registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to daily quotas for each route. Pilgrims aged between 13 and 70 years will be eligible, while women with over six weeks of pregnancy will not be allowed to undertake the yatra.
Registration will be carried out through Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, and permits will be issued online. Pilgrims will need to submit a valid health certificate issued by authorised medical institutions. The yatra permit will mention the selected route-Baltal or Pahalgam-and the date of travel. Authorities have advised pilgrims to follow all guidelines and complete registration in advance for a smooth pilgrimage.
