In an interaction with the media, after reviewing the State Disaster Management at Chennai today, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that there was 85% of water storage in all the reservoirs in Tamil Nadu. He said that 16 teams from the State Disaster Force and 12 teams from the NDRF will attend to the coastal areas. He said ten more teams will be coming to manage any eventualities due to the Cyclone. He said that 20 thousand hectares of agricultural land were flooded. The estimated loss would be calculated once the floodwater drains. He said that five lakh basic rations of five kilos of rice are ready to be dispatched to rain-affected areas. He appealed to the people to remain indoors as the forecast of rain continues till tomorrow.
