Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan today said that the grand celebration of the 77th Republic Day Parade stood as a vibrant reflection of India’s unity in diversity. Speaking at the closing ceremony of Bharat Parv 2026 in New Delhi, Mr. Radhakrishnan said, it is an experience that brings alive the timeless spirit of the country, with each state and region telling its own unique story.
The Vice President said that the Republic Day Parade was the reaffirmation of the unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and security of the nation. He also highlighted that this year holds special national significance as the nation commemorates 150 years of Vande Mataram, the timeless song that ignited the spirit of freedom and unity during India’s Independence movement. He said, its profound reverence for the motherland aligns deeply with the spirit of Bharat Parv and the constitutional values of the nation.
Mr. Radhakrishnan said that Bharat Parv also reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has consistently emphasized India’s cultural heritage as a source of national pride, social cohesion, and economic opportunity. He said, the Parv captures the essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat by bringing together traditions, cuisines, and artistic expressions from across the country.
He added that as the nation progresses through the Amrit Kaal, India is witnessing transformation in infrastructure expansion, digital empowerment, financial inclusion, social security, women-led development, and youth-driven innovation, all of which are reshaping the foundations of the economy and society.
Mr. Radhakrishnan also noted that India recorded over 400 crore domestic tourist visits in 2025, reflecting not only economic recovery after the pandemic but also a renewed enthusiasm among Indians to explore their own country. The Vice President also appreciated the artists, artisans, and performers who participated in Bharat Parv, stating that their dedication preserves India’s rich cultural heritage and ensures its transmission to future generations.
