Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar today said that the government’s initiative of Divya Kala Mela is providing an opportunity to Divangjans to showcase their skills and talent. Inaugurating the 28th edition of the Divya Kala Mela in New Delhi, the Minister said that the event is acting as a platform for Divangjans to become economically strong.
Mr Kumar added that the government is providing all the necessary aids, including scholarships, to the Divangjans. On the occasion, the Minister also lauded India’s para athletes for making the country proud in the Paralympics. Mr Kumar urged the citizens to visit the fair in large numbers and increase the confidence of the Divangjans.
The inaugural ceremony of the event was marked by dance performances of the Divangjans. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also attended the event. The nine-day fair, being organised at the premises of India Gate, will continue till the 21st of this month.
