2 day seminar on Tribal Languages & Inclusivity in Ladakh concludes with key announcements

In Ladakh, the two-day national seminar on “Tribal Languages and Inclusivity in Ladakh” concluded today with a valedictory session at the Tribal Research Institute, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh.

 

The event began with the National Anthem and a ceremonial Khatak presentation. The seminar was organised under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Saket Kushwaha.

 

Retired IAS officer Mr. Kacho Asfandyar Khan attended as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Mehboob Ali, In-charge Administration, was the Guest of Honour. The ceremony witnessed participation from tribal language experts, faculty, students, school heads, and Team STRINGMO.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khan praised the university’s efforts in preserving tribal languages through education and community engagement. Dr. Mehboob Ali echoed the Vice Chancellor’s vision-“Rooted in traditions and focused on the future”-and announced the launch of two new college-level courses on traditional knowledge.

 

A special presentation by Mr. Sajjad Bob highlighted a week-long tribal painting workshop involving 50 students. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore and preserve traditional art.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jaffar Ali Khan, Director TRI, who acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders in making the seminar a success.
